  1. Wow, Jimmie, this is important info — I did it — couldn’t save it to my desktop but I have it in my folder — It’s just I’m not sure it’s the total deal. Look at these instructions that came up, when I opened the downloaded file. Looks like we’re supposed to move the info to another WP site?? Seems beyond my tek ability — but then I am challenged in that, as in so many other ways — anyway, here are the instructions that give me pause here —

This is a WordPress eXtended RSS file generated by WordPress as an export of your site.

      • huh, I dont know why you couldnt do it, it was easy for me, I have a Dell and there is nothing fancy on it. I too am not too savy with this but was able to save it to my desktop.
try again maybe it will work the second time around?

  2. Always a good practice to back up! The WP tools work very well. A while back I did this to transfer my book related posts to a new web site and the import was as easy as the export. Thanks for the reminder!

  3. Oh Jimmie, you are so sweet to provide such info. mM site was doing odd things early this morning. I always assume it’s me being cyberly challenged.

By the way, hope that picture is going into your portfolio. It’s a keeper.

    Your pal,

    Susannah

  4. Jimmie, I’ve been blogging for years and didn’t know this. Thanks! We have all our posts as Word files, but recreating the blog from scratch that way would be a freaking nightmare. We will definitely try this! – Adele
